My husband's family immigrated here from Norway about 1902 and settled in New York City. My father's family immigrated here from Ireland and moved to the mid-west. I am looking forward to learning more about the common early experiences of those brave souls who chose to push onward against much adversity.Winniehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11245822429976631256noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8871958873311402276.post-81817145938922058732012-12-29T22:46:25.934-06:002012-12-29T22:46:25.934-06:00I shared on FB. If you have any ancestors that came to America- be it Swedes to NY, or Germans to North Dakota, they all experienced the same things, and my books will give you a glimpse of their early lives. Enjoy! And as a Swede would say "tack så mycket" (Thank you very much!)Linda Hubalekhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16720726064455839808noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8871958873311402276.post-60670070096218746422012-12-29T09:57:23.939-06:002012-12-29T09:57:23.939-06:00Shared on FB!Shared on FB!Nancyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03963547995976332648noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8871958873311402276.post-62723929027444100052012-12-29T09:54:07.100-06:002012-12-29T09:54:07.100-06:00I'd love to win - my grandparents on my mother...I'd love to win - my grandparents on my mother's side were both Swedish immigrants who settled in Jamestown, NY, another big Swedish settlement!Nancyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03963547995976332648noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8871958873311402276.post-34499271414034715452012-12-29T08:12:34.537-06:002012-12-29T08:12:34.537-06:00Sounds like a great book to read cuddled up on the...Sounds like a great book to read cuddled up on the couch, fire in the fire place and the snow falling softly outside.....ttuy9@aol.comlindeelouhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05310628107508146481noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8871958873311402276.post-46986350574975586722012-12-28T19:28:55.759-06:002012-12-28T19:28:55.759-06:00Would love to read this book!Would love to read this book!Lorrihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03583585626846878449noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8871958873311402276.post-64239637444309982432012-12-28T18:17:40.732-06:002012-12-28T18:17:40.732-06:00I found this fascinating because I have been inter...I found this fascinating because I have been interested in the early settlers on the Prairie for many decades. The hardships that these settlers endured were unbelievable. How they were able to not give up and return east is a mystery to me. The memories of author Linda Hubalek are so worth saving for the rest of us to learn about how America was truly settled. One determined family at a time.

I don't own a Kindle, but I will pursue a hardcopy to enjoy. Thanks for this interesting and personal story of a piece of our tapestry of the mid-west.Winniehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11245822429976631256noreply@blogger.com
